Under Private Warehousing Scheme, godowns are hired by FCI from private parties on lease + services basis through open tender enquiry minimum for a period of two years extendable by maximum another one year (can be dehired in the extended period after giving three months’ notice). GMs (Region), FCI can sanction rates upto Rs. 7.40 per quintal per month, EDs (Zone), has full power. The godowns is offered "Without Services", the DOP of GM (R) shall be reduced by Rs-1.31 per Qtls. per month in case of hiring of godowns without services. This scheme has been extended upto 31.03.2025.
